Formula Friday: O&M New York Fashion Week

Start with dry hair and mist the hair with O&M Know Knott Detangling Spray to nourish and help to soften curls. Then apply a small amount of O&M Frizzy Logic Shine Serum to the ends and lightly diffuse. The goal is to create a full Afro feel while keeping the texture slightly raw and defined rather than controlled and tamed.

Lightly spray the hair with O&M Dry Queen Dry Shampoo to give the hair added texture and remove excess shine. Finally, use fingers to separate the strands and give 3D texture to the look.

For the show at NYFW, the designer wanted a pop of color to be added—here, in the form of a knotted ribbon!

Create this loose texture by spraying O&M Atonic Hair Thickening Spritz and O&M Surf Bomb Sea Salt Texture Spray onto dry hair, building up in several layers until an almost ‘bed head’ texture is achieved. Part, then apply O&M Style Guru Styling Cream.

Blow dry while smoothing with a comb to flatten the crown, placing clips throughout the hair from lifting as it cools.

For texture and volume throughout the ends apply O&M Desert Dry Texture Spray. Use extra O&M Style Guru Styling Cream, working through ends, to get a random textured feel.

To create this fun flippy flounce, start by layering O&M Atonic Hair Thickening Spritz and O&M Surf Bomb Sea Salt Texture Spray into slightly damp hair, applying more to each section as you go. Then use a large natural bristle round brush to create fullness through the top and flip out the ends.

After creating as much fullness as possible, part, slightly mist with O&M Atonic Hair Thickening Spritz and create a stronger flip on the ends with a marcel waver.

To finish, lightly backcomb roots and use O&M Desert Dry Texture Spray for added volume and texture. To add interest, clip a barrette on one side.

Looking for a whimsical Gothic textured look? Start by applying O&M Surf Bomb Sea Salt Texture Spray into dry hair using hands and blow dryer only—no brushes! Part down the middle to the crown and take three sections, one on each side and one below the crown. Separate those three sections of the hair off into two separate parts and twist each of those sections individually with O&M Frizzy Logic Shine Serum on the fingers. Then twist the sections together, which will create the large twists. Leave the ends out and un-styled.

To finish, twist both sides and join them at the nape with a section from the crown in the front. Spray O&M Surf Bomb Sea Salt Texture Spray into hands and run over style for the fly away texture around the face and through the ends.

For this full Bridgette Bardot look, spray O&M Know Knott Detangling Spray and O&M Atonic Hair Thickening Spritz onto damp hair. Dry the hair to 80% dry and apply O&M Rootalicous Root Lift Spray at each section for maximum hold and fullness. Finish drying, using a large round brush to create soft waves.

Once dry, mist again with O&M Atonic Hair Thickening Spritz and use a large curling wand to reinforce the waves. Spray each section with O&M Original Queenie Firm Hold Hairspray and let cool. Take a section lining up with the middle of each eyebrow four inches back from the hairline and secure into a pony. Finish by wrapping with a ribbon and using a large basin comb to separate waves for more fullness.

For this funky ‘do, apply O&M Atonic Hair Thickening Spritz to dry hair and defuse to re-activate the texture. Re-apply a few times to build and provide a ‘barely styled’ feel. Use O&M Frizzy Logic Shine Serum to add slip to the hair.

Braid back from the recession lines on each side and join at the nape. Spray with O&M Original Queenie Firm Hold Hairspray to set hair. Comb the hair smooth through the crown and pull behind braids. Curl with an iron in large sections to get the defined waves and texture where you want it. Use O&M Style Guru Styling Cream to slick a side panel of the hair to obtain the shiny wet look.

Lastly, use O&M Style Guru Styling Cream and O&M Original Queenie Firm Hold Hairspray to create baby waves on the face and chin.
