To achieve Carly Rae Jepsen’s red hair color, first apply the following hair color formula (be sure to take your client’s natural, regrowth, and/or artificially pigmented hair into consideration before formulating).

Previous Color Level: 1
Desired Level: 5
- Pre-lighten the hair to the desired level. Be sure to watch the hair, as you lift it to a level 5.
- Rinse hair at bowl and treat with Powerbuild Reconstructor
- Towel dry hair until damp
- Apply following formula (yes, on damp hair)
*** Depending on your starting level and which tones you need to cancel/enhance, feel free to tweak this formula to meet your individual client’s needs:
5RC (1oz)
6RC (1oz)
Red Concentrate (1/4oz)
Mix with: 20 vol developer (2 1/4oz)
2 1/4 ounce 20 volume developer
Process: Under dryer (104-106°) for 10 minutes, cool for 15 mins.
Rinse: Add small amount of water to hair, and emulsify hair for 4-5 minutes. During this step you should be produce a nice lather from emulsifying the hair color. It is necessary to emulsify the hair so that the oils penetrate the cuticle, giving the hair immense shine. Rinse color out of hair until water runs clear. Shampoo
