A summer like no other calls for a short, whimsical pixie cut like no other. For a playful pixie cut you don’t see everyday, try the process below.

I used my straight razor for the cut and hand styled using Oway Sea Salt Spray and Oway Flux Potion. Then finished with Oway Bungee Fiber.

She was styled with a blend of the O&M Style Guru and Oway Glossy Nectar with some Oway Water Resin at the root for lift and pieced through the ends for definition after being diffused.

[This is her natural color, but to recreate, try] balayage with O&M Paint Powder Clay Lightener and O&M CØR.color 40 vol Activator. Tone with O&M CØR.color 7.75 Chocolate Blonde and O&M CØR.color 3.5 vol Activator.

If I were formulating her color I would use Oway Hcolor 7.31 Beige Blonde/Oway Hcolor 7.3 Golden Blonde and a splash of Oway Hnectar – 8.32 Light Caramel Blonde to give that warm milk chocolate color she naturally has.

I used the Oway Sea Salt Spray for soft texture to air dry her (we are forgoing blow dries due to Covid, so we are getting creative). I also used Oway Bio Rich Water to give that slight moisture!

The cut is a soft blunt lived in cut with barely there texturing on the ends for a crisp get non bulky look!

Full disclosure, I didn’t do this haircut, just the color. Her husband cut her hair if you can believe it! For the color I used O&M CØR.color 3.0 Dark Brown + O&M CØR.color 4.1 Ash Brown with O&M CØR.color 10 vol Activator.

But if I were to describe this cut I’d say it’s a short bob with soft graduation and a fringe. There is some light texturing on the ends to keep the shape light and airy. Styled with Oway Flux Potion using the flat wrap technique with the blow dryer.

I used O&M Ammonia Free Keratin Blue Powder Lightener. She had about 5 inches of regrowth, so I did O&M CØR.color 30 vol Activator 1 inch off the root and O&M CØR.color 20 vol Activator on the root with O&M CØR.restore Part 1. Processed to desired level about 45min. Rinsed applied CØR.restore Part 2. Rinsed. Did O&M CØR.color 12.0 Super Natural Blonde with O&M CØR.color 10 vol Activator 1:2 for 10min. To even porosity and fill the hair for an even canvas. Rinsed. Then did O&M CØR.color 10.6 Lightest Violet Blonde=O&M CØR.color 12.8 Super Peal Blonde with O&M CØR.color 5 vol Activator 1:1 for 15min. 

The haircut is a triangulated bob with internal layering to give release and shape to the haircut and a tiny bit of face framing to give the client movement around the front. I like to use a lot of shear cutting techniques to give shape and tapered ends on my soft styling of layering.

Small amounts O&M Style Guru mixed with O&M Know Knotts for detangling, softness, and light hold for the blow dry. Then O&M Frizzy Logic Spray after the hair is dry to prevent frizz and seal in the moisture. 

A short summer cut featuring a shaved back and cute curls over the top give this client that enviable cool-girl sheen. A touch of highlights complete the perfect summertime look. To recreate:
