Beard getting boring? In celebration of World Beard Day, we found the raddest trims, hot shaves, cuts and color worthy of adoration (and recreation).
See our favorite finds below!
Slicked Back and Relaxed
Some clients want to keep a full brush while maintaining a tapered and clean look. For a full yet super-polished beard, follow the steps below.
@cbcstyle formula:
I actually use scissor over comb to trim the beard, followed by Oway Glossy Nectar and a boar bristle beard brush. I love using Oway Glossy Nectar as a beard oil! My clients love the smell.
Scissor/trimmer on hair, Oway Curly Hair Bath, Oway Curly Hair Mask and Oway Curly Potion on his wild curls, followed by Oway Bungee Fiber to finish.
Big Dude Mood
Although this guy doesn’t have his 5 o’clock shadow just yet, his ‘do was too killer to pass up. A fun mohawk requires dimension, shape, movement and a little bit of color, of course! Give your clients that have some extra hair up-top to play with a fun style to walk out of the salon with and to recreate at home, using two simple products!
@evergreensalonpdx formula:
We use the Oway Quick Glue and blow dry it up. We finish with a flat iron and define the points with some Oway Shaping Putty.
Laid Back Lavender
Try out this formula and let your clients explore the bright side with a super chic purple pastel.
@vconcernedstylist formula:
The formula for the Lavender was Oway Hbleach Butter Cream Lightener and Oway Hcatalyst 20 Volume Cream Developer lifted to palest yellow, followed by a wash and Oway Hrestore Protein Treatment Spray dried into the hair.
26g Oway Hcolor 11.17 Frosted Platinum, dot of Oway Hcolor 1.8 Blue Black, 1g Oway Hcolor 6.77 Deep Purple Dark Blonde, 6 drops Oway Hmelt Mysterious Purple and 6 drops Oway Hmelt Playful Rose.
The beard is his natural, but my go to would probably be a 6.4 with 9 vol, brushed through as a gloss. Products for hair Oway Raw Mud, beard is Oway Lip & Beard Salve.
Making Mauve Waves
There’s nothing better than having a client leave with a smooth and soft beard. Achieve this vibrant color and perfectly tousled texture using the formula below.
@bryantarka of @smokeandmirrors formula:
I love using Hnectar on beards to keep them super soft and shiny—Oway Hnectar – 7.44 Saffron Blonde + equal parts of Oway Hnectar – 6.34 Cinnamon Dark Blonde and Oway Hnectar – 8.34 Cinnamon Light Blonde with Oway Hcatalyst 20 Volume Cream Developer.
After using clippers to trim and shape the beard, I used the Oway Lip & Beard Salve going with the hair growth to tame the texture and keep the facial hair looking and feeling soft all day.
Tapered Clean Wolverine
Who doesn’t want to look like Hugh Jackman? Transform your stud clients using this process.
@moonroom_salonanddesignspace formula:
We cut quite a bit of length off! He had very long hair, to about past his shoulders. We washed him with the Oway Frequent Use Hair & Scalp Bath and Oway Frequent Use Conditioner. After the finished cut, we styled him with the Oway Water Resin (literally one of our favorite products for our men clientele). We also took quite a bit of his beard as well! We used the Oway Face & Beard Hydrating Cleanser with hot towels to cleanse his beard area, then used a straight razor to shave and line up his cheeks and neck area with the Oway Softening Shave Cream. Then we finished the process with one last hot towel and applied the Oway Repairing Aftershave Balm on him.
Fully-Groomed Freedom
This glam-forward look is worthy of the Greek Gods. For an understated balayage that highlights under the jawbone and a beard that is textured and full, check out the formula and products below.
@woodlundsalon formula:
For the hair we balayaged with Oway Hbleach Butter Cream Lightener and Oway Hcatalyst 30 Volume Cream Developer, then styled with Oway Smoothing Cream and Oway Sculpting Mist. We finished with Oway Glamshine Cloud.
For the beard we used the Oway Lip & Beard Salve.
