Salon Celebration Week: Spotlight on Head Rush Salon

This week, we’re honoring the heart of the clean beauty movement with a special feature on Head Rush Salon. Known for its commitment to eco-conscious practices and holistic hair care, Head Rush is more than just a salon—it’s a sanctuary for stylists and clients alike. Founder Bridgette D’Angelo set out to create a space where creativity and health go hand in hand, ensuring stylists aren’t exposed to harsh chemicals, and clients enjoy transformative hair care that repairs from the inside out. As the first clean beauty salon in its area, Head Rush is truly leading the charge in elevating what it means to care for both hair and well-being.

Can you share the story behind your salon – what inspired you to start and focus on organic / holistic beauty?

”Stylists are exposed to so many chemicals all day long so when I was opening up Head Rush, I wanted it to be different. I wanted a space for stylists to be creative while not compromising their health.  I was inspired to be a clean salon because I truly believe that you can achieve the looks you want without all the added ingredients that can make you sick.  Clients and stylist deserve that.”

What makes your salon unique in terms of the services you offer and the products you use?

”My salon is unique because we use products and color that actually repair the hair from the inside out.  Our new blonde clients can come in and get blonder AND healthier hair overtime and they are blown away by those results.  We offer lived in color for easy maintenance because we know people are busy.  The at home hair care help keep our clients hair healthy so we can push it further next time if needed!”

How do you educate your clients on the benefits of organic or holistic hair care?

“We like to educate our clients on the importance of organic/holistic hair care because it’s so important.  I like telling them what the products don’t include such as sulfates, silicones, MIT, Phthalates, ppd, resorcinol.  These are things people experience allergic reactions to whether they know it or not.  I tell my guests that our products actually help fix your hair issues (frizz, dryness, oily) instead of putting a bandaid over it like silicones do to make it feel smooth and soft.  Being exposed to fragrances and synthetic ingredients overtime can cause all sorts of issues.”

What does being part of the clean beauty movement mean to you and your salon’s mission?

“Being a part of the clean beauty movement is such an honor.  I take a lot of pride in being the first in my area to go this route and try to showcase it everyday on social media and in the salon.  One of our core values at the salon is being eco-conscious and using products and color that align with that is truly amazing.”
