Use ‘Pretty’ Words

Many words we use every day have positive or negative connotations. Use positive words whenever possible. It is very easy in this business to use words that we don’t identify as negative while the public does. Don’t say “bleach”, say “lighten”. Don’t say “peroxide”, say “developer”. Say “lift your color” instead of “strip your color” and “contrast” instead of “two tone”. Use “tint” instead of “dye”.

Here is a list of positive words to help you understand the verbiage you should be using:
-Natural
-Honey
-Translucent
-Gorgeous
-Delicious
-Sandy
-Soft
-Shiny
-Subtle

You may even begin noticing a shift in your disposition. A more positive disposition leads to more smiles for you and your clients. More smiles mean they want to come back more. This is a powerful shift – try it!
