Formula Friday: Ice Ice Babylights
Going blonde is a lengthy and intense process worthy of admiration and celebration. Plus, it’s eerily reminiscent to the snow and icicles popping up now that it’s almost officially winter. Give into the chill with our favorite healthy blondes of the season so far.
Classic Butter-Blonde
A razor cut shag and regal-toned blonde are a duo that create holiday perfection. To try it out, use the formula below:
@sproutorganicsalon formula:
I did a full balayage using O&M Paint Powder Clay Lightener with O&M CØR.color 40 Volume Activator.
For toner, I used O&M CØR.color 10.6 Lightest Violet Blonde and O&M CØR.color 30 Volume Activator to tone highlights and bump the base.
Angel Gloss
As shiny and glowy as the topper on the tree, this all-over gloss will have your clients ready for winter parties in no time. To recreate:
@cherilynrachelle formula:
I started with a foilyage with Oway Hbleach Butter Cream Lightener and Oway Hcatalyst 20 Volume Cream Developer. I did a shampoo with Oway Htech Pre-Color Clarifying Shampoo and treated the mids to ends with Oway Hmilk No Stress Conditioning Treatment.
I did the shadow base with Oway Hcolor 8.31 Beige Light Blonde and Oway Hcolor 7.0 Natural Blonde. Finally, I glossed globally with Oway Hnectar 10.32 Caramel Extra Light Blonde + Oway Hnectar 10.21 Extra Light Lavender Blonde + Oway Hbright Light Enhancing Fluid + Oway Htone 9 Volume Cream Developer.
Ice Queen
For clients who wish they could live in winter weather year round, an icy blonde never goes out of style. Give them what they want this season with the formula below:
@vreber formula:
Icy face framing highlights and babylights using O&M CØR.color 10 Volume Activator, tipping the ends. Contrasting tones with O&M CØR.color 9.03 Very Light Beige Blonde (mixing O&M CØR.color 5 Volume Activator and O&M CØR.color 10 Volume Activator together). No toner just the O&M Conquer Blonde Silver Shampoo and O&M Conquer Blonde Masque! That stuff is the bus-iness! Styled with Oway Volumizing Root Spray and Oway Flux Potion for the perfect hold to winter waves.
Blizzard Balayage
Just like a blizzard is the perfect mix of snow and wind, this balayage has the right mix of everything. To recreate:
@zerahdantz formula:
This is the third balayage I’ve done on her using O&M Paint Powder Clay Lightener and O&M CØR.color 30 Volume Activator.
I took horizontal sections on the bottom and used a V technique to blend in. Then on the front sections I took vertical sectioning and continued in a V fashion. I toned her all over using O&M CØR.color Ice Toner and O&M CØR.color 3.5 vol Activator.
Lowlight Fireside
What better way to warm up than a fireside chat and a warm cup of cheer? That’s what these perfectly painted lowlights remind us of. To recreate:
@stephenie_paintshair formula:
I painted in pops of lowlights with O&M CØR.color 7.1 Ash Blonde and tone Activator in areas that would naturally fall darker in the hair.
In her mohawk section and hair line areas, I did babylights with Oway Hbleach Butter Cream Lightener and Oway Hcatalyst 40 Volume Cream Developer to lift through her regrowth.
And then I toned with 1oz of O&M CØR.color Ice Toner and .5oz of O&M CØR.color Silver Toner at the sink and let it process for 10 minutes.
We also finished with an O&M Seven Day Miracle Moisture Masque.
Holiday Hbleach
What’s a better gift for the holidays then Holistic Hair Color to last all season long? Give your clients the gift that keeps on giving with the formula below:
@keepingupwithkourt formula:
It was a full teasy light and babylight combination. I started underneath using Oway Hbleach Butter Cream Lightener and Oway Hcatalyst 20 Volume Cream Developer and then switched to the O&M Ammonia-Free Keratin Blue Powder Lightener and Oway Hcatalyst 20 Volume Cream Developer once I got to the top. I used O&M CØR.color 10.6 Lightest Violet Blonde and O&M CØR.color 10.0 Lightest Blonde half and half to tone! Then used atonic to blow dry and O&M Surf Bomb Sea Salt Texture Spray.
